Rain brings down temperature in several UAE areas

ABU DHABI: Rain of varying intensity fell on separate areas across the country and active and sand-stirring winds blew on Monday, causing the horizontal visibility to be lower.

Lighttomoderaterainstartedfallingonmadinat Zayed, Bedaa Al Mutawa, Baraka and Liwa in Al Dhafra Region and on Abu Al Abyad Island, Sas Al Nakhl, Al Samha, Al Khatam, Al Falah, Bani Yas and separate areas in Abu Dhabi City and Al Ain.

The active, sand-stirring winds that blew on separate areas caused the horizontal visibility to be lower to less than 1,000 metres at Abu Dhabi International Airport and separate areas in Abu Dhabi.

The lowest temperature of 12.8 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at 07:45am UAE local time. Tuesday’s weather is expected to be dusty and partly cloudy to cloudy at times with some rainy cumulus clouds forming on separate areas across the UAE, especially the northern and eastern ones, and a noticeable drop in temperature, especially in the coasts, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Southeasterly to northeasterly winds will blow, turning to moderate, active, strong and sandstirring winds at times at 15 to 30 and up to 50 km/h, while the waves will be rough in the Arabian Gulf but will be moderate and will become rough at times in the Sea of Oman.

Wednesday’s weather will be clear to partly cloudy and dusty at times but will turn humid at night and on Thursday morning in some inland areas with a chance of light fog.

Active northwesterly winds will blow, turning strong at times offshore before becoming moderate and sand-stirring during the day and of lower speed in the evening and at night at 15 to 25 and up to 45 km/h. The waves will be rough but will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman on Thursday morning.

Thursday’s weather will be clear to partly cloudy at times with clouds appearing in the east in the aternoon but will turn humid at night and on Friday morning in some coastal and inland areas with a chance of fog or light fog.

Light to moderate northwesterly to southwesterly winds will blow, turning active at times at 10 to 20 and up to 35 km/h, while the waves will be moderate to regular in the Arabian Gulf and regular in the Sea of Oman.

Friday’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy at times, turning humid at night and on Saturday morning in some coastal and inland areas with a chance of fog or light fog.

Lighttomoderatenorthwesterlytosouthwesterly winds will blow, turning gradually to active offshore in the west at night and on Saturday morning at 15 to 20 and up to 40 km/h.
