SHARJAH: On Saturday, rain with varying degrees of intensity lashed separate areas of the country due to a shallow air depression accompanied by a weak atmospheric depression in the upper layers, which affected the weather conditions.

Moderate rain started to fall at 1:30pm on Dara and Shaoka, while heavy rain lashed Wadi Al Ajili in Ras Al Khaimah, and Rafar in Fujairah. Al-bathna - Masafi Road, Wadi Shees, Al Rafisah Dam and Maliha Kalba Road in Sharjah experienced also the moderate rain.

Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah recorded the lowest temperature, 24.9°C, on Saturday, at 6:30am.

The National Centre of Meteorology ( NCM) appealed to motorists to be careful while driving during the rain, marked by low visibility, due to rain and dust-stirring winds.

NCM advised residents and motorists to stay away from areas amassing water and flooded roads in the valleys.

Sunday’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy, dusty at times during the day, NCM indicated.

Clouds are expected to form in the east, in the aternoon.

The weather will be humid at night and Monday morning over some coastal areas, according to the NCM.

Winds are expected to be southwesterly, turning to be northwesterly and northeasterly, light to moderate, active sometimes, at a speed ranging between 15 to 25 up to 40 kilometres/h.

The sea is expected to be light in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.

Monday’s weather, according to the centre, will be generally clear, hot and dusty at times during the day and partly cloudy in the west, with low clouds formed on the eastern coast in the morning.

The winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, active at times during the day, stirring dust, at a speed of 15 to 25 up to 40 kilometres/hour.

The waves on Monday are expected to be light in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.

Tuesday’s weather is expected to be clear to partly cloudy and dusty at times during the day, with clouds in the east, which may be cumulus in the aternoon. Low clouds are expected to form on the east coast in the morning.
